Jim to the (animal) rescue!

Title: Alternative Solution
Author: theantipam
Pairing: J/B or pre-J/B
Length: Snippet
Rating: PG
Warnings: My first story posting ever! No fundraisers were hurt in the making of this fanfic.
Disclaimer: I'm just borrowing the boys for some fun and no profit.

Author Notes: This was inspired by the courage and determination Garett has shown while being surrounded by fans that may seem a bit um, overenthusiastic.

Last year at Moonridge it was suggested to GM that he'd make even more money for the animals if he sat in a kissing booth. He seemed to turn a little green at the thought – and did his best to change the subject.

However, the fans listening in were definitely able to dwell on the pleasant possibilities of what $1 (or more) could buy….

"Jim, you didn't tell me we'd be working the Kissing Booth for the ARC fundraiser!"

"Sandburg, you're the one that told Megan we'd be glad to help. Animal Rescue of Cascade needs all the donations they can get for their new shelter."

"But Jim – kisses for a dollar? I'm just not sure I want to kiss a lot of unfamiliar women, even if it is for a good cause."

"C'mon, Romeo, maybe we'll meet some great kissers! Besides who said it would be just women?"

"Man, you are not helping! I just don't feel right about kissing – well – strangers. And you know Cascade has its fair share of pretty strange strangers!"

"Look. Blair. We are in the middle of the park in broad daylight. Nothing bad is going to happen. Besides, you have your 'Blessed Protector' at your side to keep away evil-doers – like that blond grandma over there – or that middle-aged big lady with her four pound poodle."

"Hey, I like kissing just fine, ok? But usually I kiss someone that I love, not someone I will never get to know or care for…"

"Of course you do – just ask Christine or Amy or Susanne or Margie or April or …"

"Sure, Jim. Just yuck it up."

"Chief, you really are flustered, aren't you!"

"I'm just saying, I really don't feel comfortable about this."

"Okay, okay, give me a minute. Maybe we can think of something that will bring in some money without subjecting you to the amorous attention of all these wild animal lovers…"

"Megan, how did we do?"

"Sandy, you and Jim were great. You brought in over $880 in donations. That is the most for any booth in the fair!"

"Well, we were just glad to help."

"But, Sandy I do have one question. Why was almost all the money from your booth in five-dollar bills?"

Sometimes you just KNOW the right thing to do is max out the cash advance on your credit card.

I'll save you a place near the front of the line!

Blair isn't the only one to have quick-thinking solutions. Maybe we could blame the sign change on William Ellison - his business smarts must have rubbed off on Jim!

Glad you liked the story

Yes, I will be at Moonridge! I've been wishing I could start packing for weeks!

Any ideas about who else will be there? I've been trying to ask around, but I guess the auction had everyone very busy...
